This means Nendaz has direct access into the largest ski network in Switzerland with over 400km of slopes at altitudes ranging from 1400m to 3300m. If you are looking for something more challenging the off piste is world famous and will not disappoint and stunning ski touring routes for all levels have sprung up across the area in recent years. Aside from skiing and snowboarding you will find sledging, paragliding, plenty of accessible walking trails thanks to the historic network of water channels ('The Bisses') and even curling at the local ice rink.

Explore The Area
Take a wander around the old village of Haute-Nendaz and discover its heritage. See the underground lake at St-Leonard and visit the Nînd'Art museum. Unwind at one of the nearby thermal baths - we particularly love the Bains des Saillons down at the bottom of the valley.
Nendaz is a small but bustling village. It is predominantly French-speaking though many shops and restaurants will speak English. There is a local Tourist Office should you need help and up to date information about all sorts of activities, shops etc. The Sports Centre which is located just below the apartment offers ice-skating, curling and there are often ice-hockey matches. The times should be posted on the entrance to the ice-rink. As for eating, there are a good number of restaurants

There are lots of year-round events including the night-time ski-touring race and New Year festivities.
Families
We have young twin girls so our apartment is equipped with two high chairs, two cots with mattresses (excluding bedding) and some toys which you will find in the chest in the living room. There is a playground just at the bottom of the road up to Domaine des Reines as well as a nursery slope in front of the building which has an invaluable magic carpet (10am - 4pm) so you can take the children sledging or start them on skis. You can rent skis for little ones so they can get a feel for it from Sommet et Neige at the bottom of the 4 Vallees Hotel - they offer full day or half day rates.
